I was excited about the opportunity to leave my fingerprint in so many little lives but because of the unique disabilities, I wasn't sure what to expect during the sessions. About Capable Kids and Families...
A child with a disability often experiences frequent hospitalizations, surgeries, and doctor appointments, and participates in occupational, speech, physical, and developmental therapy. Many times the child’s parents feel isolated---family and friends just do not understand the tremendous emotional, financial, and physical challenges they face. The Community Partnership created the Capable Kids and Families program in 2001 to support families who have a young child with a disability or developmental delay.
