Capable Kids and Families offers home visitation services with staff who truly understand the issues families confront. The Developmental Therapy Equipment Loan Program is an integral part of Capable Kids and Families. Therapy equipment in the home allows parents to be active partners with their child’s therapists and incorporate therapy
activities into daily life. Professional equipment
provides parents the tools to work with their child in the best manner possible, instead of approximating the activity with household items. Additionally, opportunities are available for parents to share experiences with other families who are on the same journey. As they share resources and ideas, many families form supportive friendships. As a result of these services, participating families often report a reduction in their levels of stress and isolation. And therapists report that enrolled children frequently meet developmental goals more quickly than expected! The Capable Kids and Families program provides all services free of charge and strives to make the journey a little easier for our families.
